Description
HDPE Split molds: (Photos are example of molds and blocking options, not representative of specific model mold)
- All molds have been tested and have positive click in retention.
- All controls are blocked (ejection port, trigger guard, mag release, slide release, take down lever).
- Optic Blocking and sight channel sized to clear suppresor height/co-witness sights.
- Threaded barrel blocking.
- Adjustable retention blocking built in (0.25”).
- The molds will come with predrilled holes that are not all of the way through the mold. You will need to use a 1/16” drillbit to finish drilling the holes all of the way through.
- The hole locations are what we have found to work in testing using a swiftpress vacuum table with a neoprene membrane and a Robinair 15800 vacuum pump. You may leave some undrilled or drill extra holes based on your vacuum table setup.
- Pin locations are for adjustable retention and are spaced at 0.60” for modwing attachments.
Removable Blocking
- The removable blocking is 3D printed using a high temp resin that can withstand the heat of thermoforming. The blocking material can be brittle and break if dropped or pried on. To remove the blocking form the mold we recommend using a plastic razor blade in a scraper to pry the blocking off, working it back and forth from each side until you can grab it to pull it straight off.
- If you do happen to break any of the removable blocking we can make replacements.
- If blocking is stuck in the formed kydex you can try to flex the kydex to pop it loose, if that does not work we have also found tapping on the opposite side of the kydex with something solid (back of a screwdriver, hammer, etc…) has worked.
- If Blocking is repeatedly sticking we recommend coating the blocking in a PTFE dry lube spray to help with mold release.
- Fomi Blocking hole spacing is 0.90” for DCC monoblock and Fomi clips and has options for zero cant and 18 degrees of cant.
- Overhook blocking hole spacing is 0.675” for DCC overhooks, RCS overhooks, and Griphooks
- T-blocking hole spacing is set to accept many OWB options such as Tech-Loks and paddle attachments.
